Everything with a Purpose

"All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3: 16-17

When is the last time you took a hard look at your daily, weekly, or monthly schedule?  Like actually took the time to sit down and figure out when and how you are spending your time.  This could be a really helpful tool.  We all know that we have but a certain number of days that God has ordained for us to walk on this earth, but how often do we take inventory of how we are spending that time?  Perhaps, the results would shock you, this is certainly the case for my own self inventory.  We can get it in our minds that we are living with purpose, but when we take an inventory of the things we are doing with our time and efforts, we can see a different story being told.  The point being, we all have a purpose.  All of us have been created by God to do good works that He has prepared for us to walk in, with the talents and spiritual blessings He has equipped us with do just that.  With that in mind, how often are we thoughtfully moving with purpose?  Are we doing the things in life and the work of the kingdom of God with purpose?  Behavior with a purpose should be something that we subscribe to in every aspect of our lives, and especially with utmost attention when it comes to the things of God.  God gave us His divine word, the Bible for a purpose.  As Paul would tell his protege Timothy in his second letter to him, the purpose of God's word is that we may be "complete [and] equipped for every good work".  The holy scriptures were given for our benefit, that we may walk in maturity as we grow closer in our relationship to Christ, and additionally, that we are equipped, meaning fully ready and prepared, to do all the good works that God would have for us to walk in.  Getting to the point where we allow God's word to work His equipping and completion in us requires some intention and purpose on our part.  We are told that we must read the word in light of what it will: teach us, reprove in us, correct in us, and how we may be trained by it.  This is the blueprint, this is how we read, study, and grow in God's word with purpose and intention.  As you study, are you allowing God to reveal areas that you can learn, grow, be corrected, reproved, or trained in and by?  It is easy to get caught reading the Bible as a checklist; something just to say you got it done for today.  But when we read and study scripture with purpose, it is then when we allow the Holy Spirit to work His completion and perfection equipping in us, so that we may be ready to do all the good works God has created us to walk in!  Love you all!  Praying for you and yours!  Have a blessed day, it's your choice!
