New Year, Same God

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." - Hebrews 13:8

Happy New Year everyone! I wanted to take a brief moment to check in with you before we go off to the races on our goals, motivations, and dreams for this New Year and remind you of what you already know to be true.

On the advent of this new year with all of its challenges, victories, struggles, unseen situations, and all the decisions to be had, it is important that we do not focus so much on the "new year, new me" but reflect and stir up our motivations from "new year, same God."

As we take time to reflect on all that was 2024, we think of all the challenges, the victories, and the perseverance needed to get through it all, we tend to look back and stir up new ways that we can be better in 2025. There are certainly old habits that need reform and new character to be built, but before we get too pushy on ourselves and make it all about our efforts, let's take a moment to be still in the truth that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

Whatever challenges you faced last year, and whatever changes you want to make in the coming year, know that God doesn't change. He is the same. No matter what you were called to endure and be shaped by last year, however incredibly hard is seemed, know that God is still perfectly as faithful to you in this new year as we was in the last. He is the same. Regardless of what we went through last year, or whatever awaits us on the horizon, know that God is exactly and perfectly the same. He still loves you perfectly, extends His grace and endless mercy to you perfectly. He remains faithful to you in the good times and the rough ones. He is the same.

So, no matter what goals you have for yourself in this coming year, (and certainly setting goals is a great thing!), know that God is with you. He is still, always has been, and always will be our perfect Father in heaven. He is always with you, and always faithful to you. He is the "author and perfecter of our faith" (Heb 12:2) and He just desires that you desire Him.

Have a blessed New Year everyone! Praying for you and yours! God bless.
